  I have nothing but praise for Carroll County's Animal Shelter. The shelter stands out to me - compared to all the shelters I've visited - as clean, organized, well thought out, and staffed by people who come across more as volunteer 'animal nuts' than employees. :) We've adopted a dog and 4 cats from Carroll County. Our precious pets were well cared for, clean, and up to date on medical treatment when they came to their forever home. There are a lot of precious friends there that need a home. The bonding rooms and staff make it a great opportunity to 'feel each other out' before committing. There is a huge peace of mind that comes from adopting from the shelter, as opposed to adopting from craigslist, for example. And, mutts are just heartier, happier dogs. I swear they all know where they come from. If they get hard to handle, I make em sit and watch the 'arms of the angels' video for a little while - that usually straightens them out. Seriously - thanks to all the staff and supporters of this great animal shelter. We're so lucky to have it. I'm including pics of Alice, my girl, and the sisters: Cotton and McKenzie.

  Adopted a kitten and brought it home sick with coccidia. Now my other previously healthy cat is sick as well. The staff has been rude and unhelpful from day 1. Please do not adopt from here just because of the low adoption fees! It's worth the money to get a healthy animal.
